There are two streams under this visa:

 

Graduate Work Stream

 

This stream is for international students who have completed a qualification relevant to an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL). 

 

Stay: up to 18 months

 

Cost: $1,895

 

You must 

 

  • be under 50 years of age
  • hold an eligible visa
  • have held a student visa in the last 6 months
  • have a qualification relevant to an occupation on the skilled occupation list
  • have applied for a skills assessment in your nominated occupation on the skilled occupation list
  • provide evidence of adequate health insurance for all applicants when you apply
  • provide evidence you have applied for an AFP check when you apply
  • provide evidence of the required level of English with the application

 

Post-Study Work Stream

 

This stream is for international students who have completed a higher education degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral) from an Australian institution, regardless of the field of study. 

 

Stay: Usually between 2 and 4 years, depending on your qualification.

 

Cost: $1,895

 

You must:

 

  • be under 50 years of age
  • have applied for and been granted your first student visa on or after 5 November 2011
  • hold an eligible visa 
  • have held a student visa in the last 6 months
  • have a recent degree in a CRICOS-registered course
  • provide evidence of adequate health insurance for all applicants when you apply
  • provide evidence you have applied for an AFP check when you apply 
  • provide evidence of the required level of English with the application

 

Application Process:

To apply for this visa, you need to submit an online application through the Australian Department of Home Affairs website. You will need to provide various documents, including your academic transcripts, English language test results, health insurance proof, and more.

 

Please be aware that it is imperative to submit all required documents simultaneously when applying for the Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485). Failure to attach all necessary documents at the time of application can lead to the denial of your visa request.
