Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

The process:

Assessment of Evidence: The assessor reviews the evidence provided and assesses it against the learning outcomes or competencies of the course or qualification. They determine whether the prior learning is equivalent to what would have been achieved through formal study.

Credit Award: If the assessment shows that your prior learning is equivalent to the requirements of the course or qualification, they may be granted credit or exemptions for specific units or modules. This means you don’t have to study those parts again and can often complete the program more quickly.

Formal Recognition: Once RPL is granted, it is formally recognized by the educational institution, employer, or relevant authority. This recognition may lead to a reduction in the overall duration and cost of education and training or enable individuals to meet licensing or certification requirements.
